DVF and The CFDA Celebrate Stephanie Winston Wolkoff

| On Tuesday night, Diane Von Furstenberg opened up her Meatpacking boutique to some of fashion’s heavy hitters to toast Lincoln Center’s new fashion director, Stephanie Winston Wolkoff. Stephanie, who worked at Vogue as the special events planner for almost eleven years will be making sure everything runs smoothly at the future site of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. She’s done it for many of New York’s most celebrated events including The Met Gala, so she seems to be the perfect gal for job. She will act as the liaison between Lincoln Center and the fashion industry, including designers, retailers, the CFDA and IMG Fashion. In September, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week will move from its famous Bryant Park Tents location to Lincoln Center’s Damrosch Park. Bryant Park has been analogous with Fashion Week for almost two decades, so the fashion world understandably has mixed feelings about the move. While many are excited about the new, larger venue (even though it's way uptown!), others are sentimental about the change. So we may have to wait until September to get the final verdict on our feelings about the new location, but one thing we know for certain ... there is unanimous support for Stephanie Winston Wolkoff as Fashion Week's newest ambassador. |
