They say one door closes and another opens and that is exactly what happened last week. As Fashion Week Spring 2010 came to an end: The Tommy Hilfiger Global Flagship Store on Fifth Avenue officially opened.
The 22,000 square foot space (formally Fortunoff) is the largest Tommy Hilfiger store (681 Fifth Avenue between 53rd and 54th Streets) in the world and offers a comprehensive Tommy Hilfiger lifestyle that includes the runway collection, menswear and men’s tailored, womenswear, footwear, accessories, the complete Hilfiger Denim collection as well as vintage.
The official opening party held in the breathtaking new space gave the Fashion World its first real glimpse at the new kid on the block, or shall we say, the new anchor on the Avenue.
Guests included: Tommy Hilfiger, Naomi Watts, Anna Wintour, January Jones, Taylor Swift, Emily Blunt, Alicia Keys, Mary Louise Parker, Becki Newton, Mena Suvari, Penn Badgley, Caitlin Crosby, Carice van Houten, Elsa Pataky, Benny Ibara, Celina Del Villar, Benjamine Vicuna, Carolina Ardohain, Sarah Ferguson the Duchess of York, Becka Diamond, Swizz Beats, John McArthur (CEO of Millennium Promise), Jeff Sachs (Co-Founder of Millennium Promise), DJ Cassidy, Russell Simons, Miss Denmark Marie-Sten Knudsen.
