Super Saturday 12

by Wendy Lerman

Donna Karan, Ariel Foxman, and InStyle along with Kelly Ripa and Blake Lively hosted Super Saturday 12 to benefit the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund. Guests included: Lorraine Bracco, Christy Turlington Burns, Mark Consuelos, Patrick Demarchelier, Edie Falco, Judith and Rudy Giuliani, Mariska Hargitay, Gayle King, Kelly Klein, Dina and Ali Lohan, Fern Mallis, Thalia and Tommy Mottola, Kelly Rutherford, Russell Simmons, Hana Soukupova, Beth Ostrosky Stern, Bella Thorn, Aida Turturro, Kerry Washington, Barbara Walters, and Rachel Zoe. This year, the event raised $3.4 million for OCRF.

While this is a fun-filled, daylong fundraiser for the entire family, complete with kids’ carnival and activities, entertainment, and much more, the highlight is the insanely fabulous shopping deals from over 200 prominent designers. Donna Karan, Theory, Carolina Herrera, Calvin Klein, Catherine Malandrino, Diane von Furstenberg, Prairie New York, LaRok, Giorgio Armani, Ralph Lauren, Louis Vuitton, Tory Burch, Valentino, and so many more participated in this posh “Garage Sale” of an event where absolutely everything was on sale and some pieces were up to 90% off retail!

Since the ticket price to attend starts at $450, it seems the only logical way to take full advantage of these unbelievable deals once your in, is to buy and buy — a lot.

When we got the vendor list and saw that our friends at Prairie New York were participating this year, we caught up with them to get the inside scoop. It is important to note that all of the designers actually donate their entire day’s revenue to OCRF, so by spending their Saturday working the booth, they are not only giving their time, but their support and genorosity to the community and an important cause. Prairie New York’s Director of Public Relations, Risa Kostis said the day was a huge success and also a lot of fun.

“We do the event because of what it means to donate to a women’s charity and truly give back. It was also really great to get to know our Hamptons clientele while doing something for a great cause."

Besides selling over 100 pieces and donating over $5000, they found a few deals of their own. The girls got steals from Shoshanna, Ralph Lauren, Siwi, and Ports 1961. After a long, hot summer day of selling and shopping, they headed to local hotspot, Della Femina for a relaxing night out and to check out the hostesses – whom Prairie New York has wardrobed for the season. If only every Saturday could be so super.
