On Tuesday night, I went down to Catherine Malandrino’s boutique in the Meatpacking District for a celebration of Janice Lieberman’s new book, How to Shop for a Husband.

Click to order.
We know Janice as the consumer reporter from NBC’s “The Today Show,” and in her new book she applies the same consumer expertise and rules for being a smart and savvy shopper to the most important “purchase” of your life ... finding a husband.

It makes sense. Many of us are good at shopping. We will try on hundreds of Manolos, compare looks on online shopping sites, spend all day in front of dressing room mirrors, wait in dreadfully long lines for sample sale bargains ... why not put the same effort into dating?

Guests sipped on pomegranate martinis and browsed the new Catherine Malandrino collections (Sorry, no husbands on the racks here!) and received signed copies of Janice’s book. Janice even entertained the crowd with tips to finding “the male equivalent to the perfect little black dress.”

While the book is funny and entertaining, it is filled with surprisingly smart dating advice. So buy it for that friend who always has the right handbag but can’t find Mr. Right, or buy it for yourself. Either way, Happy Shopping!
