Plastic Surgeon Dr. Paula Moynahan and Friends Preview Fall at Carlisle and Per Se

Last week as the Carlisle and Per Se penthouse on East 52nd Street, Leena Gurevich, Luann Sampson, and Viva Bhogaita, three of the House’s fashion specialists, unveiled the highlights of their fall collection for special guests. The presentation offered a sophisticated collection of warm tones, splashes of color and iridescents, many featuring skins and furs.

The evening’s guest of honor was Dr. Paula Moynahan, a plastic surgeon with offices in New York City and Connecticut. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery and she is a devoted Carlisle customer. So, too, are most of her patients and most of her staff.

Among those celebrating Dr. Moynihan and getting a preview of the eye-catching clothes were Caroline Bowen, Mary Chiappalone, Betsy Conway, Patricia Egan, Louise Evins, Alexis Fedor, Valeryl Fichere, Janice Gehret, Mary Gilbert, Martha Green, Dr. Klara Kiss, Manloucha Krishnamurti, Serena Liegey, Gail Mandino, Alexandra Minnella, Rhonda Minnella, Dr. Anna Rabichev, Barbara Saltzman, Carol Schildgen, Marianna Schindler, Michelle Shirian and Linda Tucciarone.

L. to r.: Quilted,” a glazed techno zip-front jacket over a wool a-line skirt with inverted pleats.

“Honey,” a mohair blend jacket over a jersey turtleneck with Ottoman-ribbed neckline and a leather pegged skirt with zipper detail.

“Mod,” a wool topper with leather pockets and buttons and a-line skirt with “Zigzag”, a nylon blend jewel neck sweater and matching scarf

L. to r.: “Mongolia,” a Merino wool jersey cardigan with detachable Mongolian Lamb collar over a crinkle silk chiffon blouse and wool herringbone flat-front pant.

“Ginger,” a glazed techno vest with snap-off hood over a stretch wool tweed flared skirt.

“Gelato,” a mirror weave poly-nylon stand collared jacket over a pleated faux leather pencil skirt.

This fall, Per Se has channeled the sixties and seventies. Think London, the mod era, Carnaby Street meets Madison Avenue: bold, minimal and architectural. Or, the Ali McGraw prep look: nonchalant, confident with a touch of Boho-chic.

In suiting, leather-trims, empire-waist jackets, color blocked leggy dresses, sash cardigans, two-tone turtlenecks and retro-striped sweaters, matched with complimenting scarves. There are wide-leg trouser suits, a perfect white turtleneck paired with a long, lamb-collared cardigan, or a “wrappy” rib-knit sweater. And, to top it off, a little knit cap.

The women applauded each new introduction. One of the most attention-getting items was “Lavish,” Per Se’s glove-leather jacket with laser appliqués in a rich toast shade of brown and lined with organza.

Luann demonstrated how easy it is, using pieces from the two collections, to transition from a daytime power-suit into a hip or trendy cocktail ensemble then into an elegant look for evening.

Clockwise from top left: "Smokey,” a stretch wool blend herringbone jacket and flat-front boot-cut pant; “Café,” a vintage leather Aviator/Bolero jacket over “Brando” pant; “Raindrop,” a pearlized glazed leather jacket over stretch silk-wool flat-front pant; “Cypress,” a Merino wool wrap cardigan with ornamented leather belt over cascading collar cotton blouse and stretch wool blend flat-front pant.

“At Carlisle, we have a wonderful, relaxed environment,” said Luann. “We make a point of getting to know you so that when you walk out, you look perfect and dressed for success.” As she slipped into and out of the “trend-on” new collection she added, “It’s important to notice two things.

One, we use the finest fabrics and two, our unique take on some of the foremost fashion houses, including Gucci and Armani. And, at incredibly impressive price point.”
