Jill Stuart's Pre-Spring 2011 Collection

Modeling Jill Stuart's Pre-Spring 2011 Collection.

Last Wednesday, a week: On one of the hottest eves I recall – when all of Manhattan felt like an enormous, unbreathable oven – Designer Jill Stuart premiered her Pre-Spring 2011 Collection with a lovely vegetarian sushi dinner; atop her Philip Johnson-designed Tribeca Penthouse.

In her eighteenth year of business Jill has risen to be a “Master” (Mistress?) of her craft.

The spacious rooms of her abode are decorated with an acclaimed collection of important Contemporary Art, undoubtedly an inspiration for her.

The fashion recalled a “Blithe Spirit," filmy and fluttery in lightly patterned translucent fabrics – with a hint of vintage silhouettes.

An interesting assortment of attractive guests, many wearing Jill’s ensembles, cooled themselves with coconut water drinks and sugar-free fruit popsicles. Outside, on the large surrounding Hudson-view, balcony, all welcomed the sunset gusts of wind.
