| Last Tuesday night, Louis Vuitton its new store – Peter Marino “maison” -- on London’s Bond Street. There were live poetry readings and a ballet performance directed by Pablo Bronstein. Live poetry readings on Bond Street, you know you’re not in Manhattan. Afterwards there was a dinner at a former post office space off Oxford Street. Gwyneth, Anjelica, Jerry (Hall), Thandie, Sophie, Tracey Emin, not to mention Sabrina Guinness, Bernard and Antoine Arnault, Elle McPherson, Marc Jacobs, Kirsten Dunst, Jade Jagger, Dominic Cooper, and even Cherie Blair. |

| They all took in the spectacular stage sets designed by a London theatre company -- a hot, crowded sailors’ bar; a pine forest with a tent with a “genie” serving absinthe; a melancholy brunette dancing alone to crackling tunes on a gramophone, and a mini harem, with actors interacting with the guests. After dinner, the guests were treated to a performance by Donna Summer, with Jacobs singing backup. Summer’s daughter Amanda Sudano models for Louis-Vuitton. So Summer has a special allegiance to the company. |
