Zac Posen for Target – The 24 Hour Shopping Party

by Wendy Lerman

What do you get when you cross a high-end designer with a low cost mega store? The newest trend in shopping. Whether its Sonia Rykiel for H & M, Charlotte Ronson for J.C. Penney, Rachel Roy for Macy’s, or Christian Siriano for Payless – designers are cashing in on their appeal to the mass market by creating designs that are affordable for all.

In my opinion, nobody has been more successful at this than Target. So far we’ve seen Anna Sui, Alexander McQueen, and Rodarte. Though we don’t have Target in Manhattan, Target has been kind enough (and smart enough) to create Pop-up-shops to sell the designer duds to us city dwellers. As you can imagine, they have all sold out rather quickly.

But tonight this is all taken to the next level of coolness: Zac Posen for Target. But it gets better. Yes the 44-piece collection is scheduled to hit stores on April 25th and nothing is over $200 bucks. But if you are in the city, get to midtown for a 24-hour Shopping Party where the clothes will be on sale starting at 11pm (Thursday, April 15) thru 11pm (Friday, April 16th).

And it will be a party. It’s open to the public and from what I’ve seen, the event space looks totally glam. Why stumble home from a club at 3am when you can stumble home with a bag full of Zac Posen?! The party is open to the public and is located at The New Yorker Hotel at 481 Eighth Avenue at 34th street. See you there.
